1. Purpose of this statement
This statement summarises the key risks of dealing in crypto assets, as required of Exclusive Advisory Services, trading as RandCrypto (“RandCrypto”, “we”, “us”), a licensed Category I Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) with the FSCA, FSP number 53473. It does not describe every risk, and it is not a substitute for reading our Terms of Use, Privacy Notice, and Fees & Pricing pages, or for taking independent advice.
2. Crypto assets are volatile and can lose all value
Crypto asset prices can move sharply in short periods, in either direction, and for reasons that have nothing to do with any individual asset. You could lose some or all of the money you put in. Do not commit money you cannot afford to lose.
3. No guaranteed returns, and this is not advice
Past performance does not predict future results. Nothing on this website or in our marketing material is financial, investment, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. You are responsible for your own decisions, and should consider getting independent, suitably qualified advice before making one.
4. Reference prices, not execution prices
Prices, charts, and converter results shown on this website are reference values drawn from our market-data feed. They exclude fees, spread, and slippage, and can differ from the price you actually receive when you trade or settle with the OTC desk. See our Fees & Pricing page for what can affect your final price.
5. Custody, transfer, and network risk
Sending a crypto asset to the wrong address, or on a network your counterparty or wallet does not support, can result in an irreversible loss. Exchanges, wallets, and blockchain networks can also experience outages, congestion, or security incidents that delay or prevent a transaction.
6. Stablecoin risk
USDT, USDC, and similar “stablecoins” are separate crypto assets, not bank deposits or legal tender. Their price can move independently of the currency they track, and they can lose their intended peg. Issuer, reserve, redemption, and counterparty risks apply.
7. Regulatory and tax risk
The regulatory treatment of crypto assets in South Africa and elsewhere is still developing and can change. You are responsible for meeting your own tax obligations, including reporting to SARS, arising from your crypto asset activity.
8. Your responsibility
Only trade with the OTC desk or use this website if you understand and accept these risks. If you are unsure about any of them, ask us before proceeding, or speak to an independent adviser.
9. Changes to this statement
